Celebrating
the First Anniversary of the
Tributary Action Team Website!
The
Delaware Tributary Action Teams invite you to visit their Website
on the First Anniversary of its launch! We offer you an in-depth
look at the process of protecting and restoring Delaware’s
waterways. With fact sheets on everything from the preservation
of agriculture to septic systems, maps and recommendations every
homeowner can use, our online presence has built a reputation as
a reliable information source for everyone interested in water quality.
Our calendar shares educational programs offered by the State and
by local conservation groups, along with our own events.
In the
past year, three of the four Tributary Action Teams have submitted
a Pollution Control Strategy for departmental review. These Teams
worked for years, researching the science behind many water quality
improvement measures. They've perfected the art of deliberation
with their friends and neighbors; on almost every team, members
consider input provided by representatives from agriculture, environmental
groups, homeowners and other interested people. Each Team turned
this research into recommendations for actions that should take
place to improve water quality in rivers and streams in their watersheds.
The inaugural
issue of the Tributary Times was released on November 19th of last
year. The Times serves as a bi-monthly newsletter for the Teams
to keep in contact with each other and to share their activities
with Delaware residents.
The folks
at Gaelic Wolf Consulting
enjoy working with the Watershed
Assessment Section to bring the dedication and hard work of
Delaware's Tributary Action Teams to the public through the Internet.
As we move forward to improve our environment, our combined skills
and dedication are coming together to bring a new awareness of how
we can work together to build a brighter future for Delaware.
The Internet
is one more tool, one that we are using to bring a wealth of information
on Delaware's water quality and the people that work to improve
our aquatic resources.
We look
forward to improving our online resources and helping make it easier
for everyone to take part in making Delaware a better place to live
and visit.
