Most Welcoming Yard Contest
Attention Townsend residents!
 Willey
Farms, The Appoquinimink
River Association, and the Town
of Townsend are announcing the first ever “Most Welcoming
Yard” contest!
Clear
out the old and get ready to plant the new because the “Most
Welcoming Yard” will win big! We're searching
for those yards within town limits that are not only welcoming
to the eye but also to wildlife and the natural world! Criteria
such as organization, yard maintenance, water conservation, wildlife
habitat and overall beauty will be considered.
If you
have a yard that you admire (even if it is your own), you will
be able to nominate it at places throughout town before the June
4th, 2005 judging day. In the meantime, plant your
spring bulbs, create backyard conservation features, and have fun!
It will
be well worth your time and hard work! Prizes galore
are provided by Willey Farms, The Appoquinimink River Association,
and the Town of Townsend!
