Kent County Water Treatment Plant
Wins Awards

The Kent County Pretreatment Program finished second in the USEPA Clean Water Act Recognition Award competition in October 2004.  The County's Pretreatment Program was nominated by the local EPA Regional Office in Philadelphia and competed against programs nominated by the other regional offices.

Environmental Protection Magazine named the Kent County Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility in Frederica as one of 5 Facilities of the Year. The plant won for its innovative fats, oils and grease (FOG) elimination program and other environmental education efforts.   The FOG program also received a 2004 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award.  The plant was profiled in the October 2004 issue of the magazine (Scroll down the page to read the profile.).
